Each year the Garden Club of Celebration plants a tree honoring a resident of our community who exemplifies the very best of us. Our honorees give of their time for community service, are dedicated to the mission of the Garden Club and are faithful Friends of the Earth.

2023 – 2024 Honor Tree
Pat Schroeder

The Celebration Garden Club has chosen to honor Patricia (Pat) Schroeder with the Honor Tree for 2023 – 2024. Pat was a politician who represented Colorado in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1973 to 1997. She was the first female U.S. Representative elected from Colorado, and ran for President of the United States in 1988. She was active in politics for the rest of her life, and continued to mentor women around the world.  

Pat and her husband Jim lived in Celebration for many years. She was a member of the Celebration Garden Club and very active in our community. Pat passed away suddenly in March 2023, and her warmth, quick wit and wonderful sense of humor are sorely missed in Celebration.

2022 – 2023 Honor Tree
Patricia & David Alebury

The 2022-2023 Honor Tree was planted to honor Patricia (Tricia) & David Alesbury. Tricia served as club president from 2013 – 2020, and David was the webmaster through 2022. They both gave tirelessly to the Garden Club and the Celebration Community, and they are sorely missed since moving back to their home across the pond full-time.
