Memorial Garden

The Celebration Foundation created the Memorial Garden as a space for Celebration residents to remember their loved ones. The Garden is maintained by Garden Club volunteers. Our club members take part in the Annual Fall Cleanup and members are needed monthly for garden maintenance. The garden is divided into six sections, and each section needs to be tended once a month.

The 2026 Spring Cleanup will be in April, date to be announced. We will be weeding, trimming, and planting new plants.

The 2026 Memorial Garden Spring Clean-up, on Saturday, Febraury 21, was a big success. Eleven Garden Club members pitched in clean up the garden, plant new plantings, and spruce up the garden. for the coming season. Thanks to all who showed up! Visit our Photos page to view more photos from the Spring Clean-up.

Eight great workers showed up the the 2025 Fall Clean-up on Friday, October 9th, to work on sprucing up the Memorial Garden for the big ceremony in a couple of weeks. A dozen plants were replanted, and 86 new plants were placed. The wet summer was hard on some of the existing plants, which was why they needed to be pulled out and replaced. A job well done by the eight strong workers that helped out for over 3 1/2 hours.

Earth Day 2024 ~ Memorial Garden Spring Cleanup. Thanks go out to Meryl for heading up a spring cleanup at the Memorial Gardens. The Garden always needs a haircut and deep weeding in the spring and fall to keep it looking so nice. Special thanks to Dorothy and John for their invaluable help. Throughout the year we have several other garden club members that take care of sections of the gardens on a monthly time frame. Thank you to all of you also.

On Friday, October 27, Meryl Rachlin led a group of early risers to spruce up and replant some of the plants in the Memorial Garden to get it ready for the Foundation Memorial service next weekend. Some plants don’t over summer well and others just die and need replacing after a few growing seasons.

Thank you to the six club volunteers that showed up to do this big yearly duty. The rest of the year the six sections of the garden are overseen by individual members but sometimes they need a little help. Thanks to CROA with help in buying some plants and with Brian Causey of Exquisite lawn care for removing all of the trimmings. A special thanks to Bob Boyer and Kathy Carlson in supplying some of the other plants.
