Trip to Leu Gardens

January 27, 2022 @ 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
Brad Wagoner

We will have our January field trip on Thursday the 27th. (Note the new date. The garden had to change the date due to an event.) The gardens at Leu Gardens will be our destination and director Robert Bowden will give us a tour of the vegetable and butterfly/pollinator garden. This will tie in nicely with our lecture topic at the January meeting as he will be talking about vegetable gardening in Central Florida.   We will have time to view the rest of the Gardens after the tour.  You will want to see the Camellias as they will be in full bloom. The tour and entry is 12.00 even if you have an annual pass.  Lunch will follow at Firebirds, where we had lunch after the Festival of Trees trip.  The tour starts at 10:15 so we will leave from Heritage Hall at 9:15 allowing us to be up there, parked and paid on time.  After the tour the rest of the garden is open to us.  YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY YOUR TICKET ON YOUR OWN FOR THIS TRIP OR THE FEBRUARY TRIP.  You pay me before the trip at the January meeting.  (They want one person to pay them once we get there.) Again, the cost is 12.00 plus lunch. When you reply please state whether you will be attending lunch. In the past most people have attended the lunches where we can all chat together and get to know each other better. I have made lunch reservations this year based on past attendance. This year I find that most people aren’t attending and we have had to tell the restaurant at the last minute that we have many fewer people coming. So now I will only make reservations ahead of time for those that are interested.  Please do consider coming along to the lunches as the food and conversation adds to the trip experience.
