The Garden Club February field trip is going to be held on Monday, February 11 in Lakeland Florida. We will be visiting Florida Southern College which just happens to have the greatest number of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s buildings in one location. These are in the National Register of Historic Places. He designed 13 buildings for the college. Our club will be given a special tour of these buildings on this pretty campus and then we will have lunch afterwards at a nearby restaurant, Frescos. There are also some gardens close by that are supposed to be good to see. Time permitting.
The tour is given at 1:00 sharp. So we are looking to go to Lakeland, (leaving from Heritage Hall), to have lunch first, then tour the campus building to see Wright’s buildings. We will leave Celebration at 9:45, have lunch at Frescos at 11:00 and start our tour at 1:00. The tour is 2.5 hours long so wear some good shoes. The restaurant is at 132 S. Kentucky in Lakeland, only a few minutes from the college.
Please let me know if you wish to attend. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for your reservation to this educational tour. The cost of the tour is 27.00 and you can pay me as I need to pay for the group with one payment. This is a group price if we can get 15 people interested. Normally this tour is 45.00 so a good discount for us. Please let me know ASAP so we can reserve the tour with them. We can’t put a tour reservation in unless we have our group numbers first.
