So, hello and welcome to 2020 and the announcement of the Celebration Garden Club February 10 field trip to DeLeon State Park. This will be on a Monday morning and will be a two part or three part trip.
Part one- breakfast(yum)
Part two- eco boat tour.
Part three-1/2 mile trail. Or a four mile trail for the adventurous.
We are going to carpool up, as we usually do, from the street alongside the Heritage Hall at 8:00 and then have breakfast at the Old Sugar Mill restaurant in the park. This is a specialty restaurant where you make your own pancakes at your table! The menu shows that you can customize your flapjacks with berries, bananas and other toppings. Other foods are available if you aren’t keen on the pancakes. Depending on the wait time for the pancakes seating, we could do one of the other trip parts. A 50 minute eco boat tour is available on the river and this is available if we have at least eight people wishing to do this. Cost is 14.00 plus tax. So around 15.00. The walking tour could be done first if we have only a short wait for seating. For the really adventurous you could swim in the always 72 degree pool area of the springs. (Polar Bear Club people take note!) If the weather is cool enough we could even see some manatees in the spring.
So let’s see a good turnout for this offbeat trip to one of Florida’s beautiful state parks. Let me know if you are interested by replying to me, Brad Wagoner, at email@example.com. If we get 12 or more interested we can reserve a time at the restaurant. So let me know ASAP so we can try to get our timing squared away.
