Celebration
Please join us for a fascinating look at something that has been right under your nose for a long time – but you probably neveknew was there! We will be visiting Celebration’s Creation Village World School, right next to the Fire Department. This tour includes the School’s hydroponic garden-financed by the Garden Club several years ago – and still in productive use yielding abundant vegetables, herbs and edible plants used in the School’s cafeteria.
Also, there other extensive gardens grounds with a wide assortment of fruit trees, raised gardens beds and a solar powered roof rain collection and recycling system. And even more surprising is the School’s 4H program’s animal husbandry operations including raising chickens and even goats! You’ll get a unique view of how the horticultural operations and environmental educational programs have been integrated into the school’s curriculum for their student’s education and engagement. Come and see how our “future gardeners” are being introduced and educated about the wonderful world of plants and gardens! Some of these future gardeners May be leading us on our tour. They are very excited about their garden creations.
We will meet at Heritage Hall at 9:50 on Friday, February 17 and drive over to Creation Village School for a 10:00-11:30 tour.
If you haven’t already done so, please email Brad that you plan on attending.
