Patricia Alesbury is from England and lives in Celebration with her husband David for six months each year, so she gardens on both sides of the Pond! They have owned a home in Celebration since 2006. She says nothing is more relaxing and stress-relieving that spending hours in a garden, anywhere!
Suzanne Chmielinski and her husband, Andy, who relocated from the Boston area, purchased a vacation home in Artisan Park in 2012. After retiring in 2015, they became permanent residents and moved to a larger home in South Village with lots of room for visitors.
Suzanne loves color and joined Garden Club to learn what kinds of plants, shrubs and flowering trees grow successfully in this climate!
Rita Roberts – I was born and raised in Ohio. We moved to south Florida in 1975 and lived there for 30 years before moving to central Florida. This is when I because interested in gardening and flowers. We moved to Celebration in 2014 and thoroughly enjoy all the town has to offer.
Charlotte Denhof and husband Gerry moved to Celebration in 2001 as snowbirds. In 2011 we bought a home and became full time residents. We enjoy Celebration and all that it has to offer. The Garden Club has not only provided great information on how to keep our small patio garden looking beautiful but has also given me the opportunity to meet such wonderful people and create lasting friendships.
Roberta Bickford and her husband Andy purchased a vacation home in Celebration in 2005 and became full time residents in 2014. Natives of New Hampshire, they lived in the Philadelphia area for 20 years where Roberta was a longtime member of two garden clubs. She participated in the Philadelphia Flower Show and helped to maintain historic gardens in the city, the suburbs, and their garden at home. Being a member of GC of Celebration has been a great way to meet new friends and learn about tropical gardening.
Lorna Sauter and her husband Harry have been Celebration snow birds since 2009 after deciding that New Hampshire winters are way too cold! They have lived and gardened in many states through the years and are still learning new tricks for doing things the central Florida way. She and her husband spend their summers at a family cottage on Martha’s Vineyard.
Sylvia Cocks and her husband Phil were successful in the Disney Lottery and became Celebration “Pioneers” in 1996. Sylvia joined the Garden Club started by Peg Owen and was also fortunate to be a past winner of the Celebration Garden Club Garden of the Month at our home on Mulberry Ave. Sylvia continues to enjoy the fellowship and activities of our wonderful Garden Club.
Judy Nelson and husband, Rick have lived in Celebration since 2004. We love the opportunity to enjoy the gardens and trails with all their color and beauty all year long. We also still enjoy our summers in the Chicagoland area where we continue to share our lives with our families and enjoying the “fruits of our labor” from our large summer vegetable garden.
Francesca Wellard has lived in Celebration since 1998. I was born in UK and due to my husband’s work then lived in Hong Kong, Katonah ,New York where I was President of the Mount Kisco Medical Center Auxiliary until retiring to Celebration, also involved in our local church, co-president of Lewisboro Neighbors Club. Active in local Episcopal Church in Orlando, concert Series in Celebration and Garden Club. Have two sons and two grandchildren all living in Florida.
Sue and Brad Wagoner moved to Celebration in 2013 from Iowa. We are retired, Brad from dentistry and Sue from being an engineer with Rockwell. Having tired of living in growing zone 4-5, we wanted to experience growing zone 9. We are go glad that we made the move. The weather, the activities and the new friends make Celebration one of best places we could ever imagine living. Keep you fingers in the dirt!
Barbara Ingraham was a writer, both in Broadcasting, Journalism and Advertising. In my last 15 years before retiring to a Florida I was writing Marketing and Corporate Communications and Public Relations material for an International Corporation.
